The BinaryHeatMap Properties form allows the user to specify the necessary files for storing data to be used by a HeatMap workbook for the display of heat flows between Nodes and/or Groups.  This option allows much larger models to be handled than the DataSets option due to the more efficient storage of data compared to Worksheets.

TARPTM BinaryHeatMap

  • Binary HeatMap Files (BHF) are an alternative to storing HeatMap data on Excel Worksheets
        - The same outputs are needed from the Thermal Solver (T, Q, G)
  • Data from the BHF is read into the HeatMap workbook resulting in much faster generation of HeatMaps, particularly for larger models
        - Test case of over 300K conductors took 1.5 hours with data stored on Worksheets and less than 8 minutes with the BHF format
  • Ouput support for Sub-Network
        - Nodes/Groups added to Object
        - Sub-Network further includes all connected nodes
        - May trace up to 5 connection levels, termination at boundaries
  • Link between Excel file and BHF is based on filename
        - Multiple BHF files may be created
        - They can be accessed simply by changing the name of the Excel workbook
